SERE-VT - Seminars in Environmental and Resource Economics at Virginia Tech

Seminars in Environmental and Resource Economics at Virginia Tech (SERE-VT) is a forum designed to bring together Virginia Tech scholars who have a common interest in applying economic theory and econometric estimation tools to environmental and natural resource problems. The seminar series features invited speakers from Virginia Tech and other institutions, including graduate students. Seminar presentations cover a wide range of topics, such as tropical deforestation, non-market valuation methods, water use, and pest management. The program began in the Fall of 2013 as a collaboration between the Departments of Agricultural and Resource Economics, Forest Resources and Environmental Conservation, and Economics. Each semester features 5-6 speakers, with presentations held approximately every third week; departmental seminars relevant to the field are also cross-listed through SERE-VT.
